How the Legal Paperwork Actually Works

If we're keeping things simple and straightforward, here's a quick overview of what to expect in the lead-up and on the day itself. (We'll walk through everything properly once you're booked in!)

The Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) is essentially our way of telling the government, "heads up, we’re gonna get married." We can tackle it together at our first catch-up — it just needs to be completed at least one month before your wedding day, so the earlier the better.
As a Commonwealth Registered Marriage Celebrant and Justice of the Peace, I can witness your signatures on the spot and take care of lodging everything with the relevant Births, Deaths and Marriages office. One less thing on your plate.
Once you've said your vows, we'll complete the signing of both your Official and Commemorative Marriage Certificates. You'll need two witnesses over the age of 18, and that's really all there is to it.
From there, I'll head off and lodge everything on your behalf. Once Births, Deaths and Marriages processes the paperwork, I'll send you a confirmation email and guide you through obtaining your official marriage certificate. You can expect it within one to two weeks, and then everything’s officially legal. Congratulations!!
